Bella Citta Engineered Hardwood Flooring Applications

Since they were developed, Engineered hardwood flooring has been the go-to choice for homeowners who want the same warm, inviting feeling of hardwood flooring, but have a concrete subfloor. Before this, there was only solid hardwood flooring, which needs to be ailed down. This is not an option for concrete subfloors and so layered hardwood flooring was developed to allow for gluing down of the floor to concrete. Alternately, many engineered floors can also be “floated” – meaning they do not actually affix to the subfloor in any way, but rather rely on their linking of each piece to the next – think of a puzzle, for example – to create a floor that ca “breathe”, expanding and contracting safely according to the relative humidity in its climate.

Bella Citta Engineered Hardwood Flooring Maintenance

Bella Citta Engineered hardwood flooring shares most of the same attributes as solid flooring option, in that you should use non-abrasive chemicals to clean it, and utilize area rugs to help protect your flooring from regular traffic. In many cases, professionals will advise against re-sanding an engineered floor, however it is simply the case that these floors are designed to be more structurally durable. However, engineered floors CAN be refinished, particularly something like the Bella Citta 10 Series Engineered Hardwood Floor, which is a whopping 3/4″ thickness, almost unheard of for an engineered floor. This means that these thicker engineered floors can be sanded multiple times, and refinished to bring back a brilliant, new look.
